Welcome to Youth End Period Poverty Movement!
Breaking Barriers, Empowering Women.

We are on a mission to end period poverty, break the silence around menstruation, and stand up for the sexual and reproductive health rights of every woman and girl.

Who We Are!

The Youth End Period Poverty Movement is a youth-led organisation fighting to end period poverty and break the stigma that surrounds menstruation. We believe that access to menstrual health is a basic right, not a privilege.

We bring together young people, women's organisations, faith communities, local residents and human rights defenders to create spaces where women and girls can thrive without shame or limitation.

Rooted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, 6 and 10, our vision is a world where every girl grows up with dignity, opportunity and the support she deserves.

Our Story

Who We Are

A youth-led movement fighting to end period poverty across Africa, one community at a time.

Our Organisation

The Youth End Period Poverty Movement (YEPPM) is a pioneering, youth-led organisation focused on tackling menstrual poverty and advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among young people. The movement's work goes beyond providing menstrual products โ€” it is about breaking taboos, raising awareness, and addressing broader issues that influence reproductive health, including nutrition, mental health, and gender equality.

YEPPM is dedicated to combating period poverty, dismantling menstrual stigma, and promoting SRHR. We foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including youth and women's organisations, civil society entities, the private sector, faith-based organisations, inter-governmental organisations, governments, advocacy groups, and human rights defenders.

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), our vision is to create sustainable, equitable communities where every girl has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, access to education, and essential healthcare.

Our Mission

To address period poverty, promote sexual and reproductive health rights, and eradicate embarrassment and shame surrounding periods. We advocate for comprehensive sexual health rights as essential to well-being and autonomy, believing that gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls are vital for sustainable development.

Our Vision

A period-friendly world where menstrual health is prioritised, stigma is eradicated, and a more inclusive and equitable society is achieved. By positioning young people as key stakeholders, we aim to enhance governmental and international efforts to promote gender equality.

Work With Us

We are always looking for passionate people who believe in our mission.

Why Join Our Movement?

When you work or volunteer with YEPPM, you become part of a community of changemakers fighting for menstrual equity and gender justice across Africa.

Purpose-Driven Work

Every project we take on directly impacts the lives of girls and women. Your contribution will not get lost in bureaucracy. It will be felt in classrooms, clinics and communities.

Real Growth Opportunities

We invest in our people. From leadership training to international advocacy forums, our team members regularly represent YEPPM at continental and global platforms.

A Powerful Network

Work alongside passionate young professionals, established advocates, partner organisations, faith leaders and policymakers across multiple African countries.

Pan-African Reach

Operating across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and beyond, our work crosses borders. So can your impact and your story.

Innovation Welcomed

We do not gatekeep ideas. If you have a vision for how to do better, faster or wider, we want to hear it. Our best programs started as someone simply asking, what if?

A Supportive Culture

We believe in caring for the people who care for others. Mental health, work life balance and respect for personal journeys are core to how we operate.

What We Stand For

Dignity

Every girl deserves to manage her health with dignity and without shame. We never lose sight of this.

Equity

We do not just want equality. We want real equity, addressing the deeper barriers that hold women and girls back.

Voice

We center the voices of those most affected. Real change starts with listening, not lecturing.

Partnership

No single organisation can end period poverty alone. We build coalitions, share credit and lift others up.
