Who We Are!

The Youth End Period Poverty Movement (YEPPM) is a pioneering, youth-led organisation focused on tackling menstrual poverty and advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among young people. The movement's work goes beyond providing menstrual products; it is also about breaking taboos, raising awareness, and addressing broader issues that influence reproductive health, including nutrition, mental health, and gender equality. YEPPM is dedicated to combating period poverty, dismantling menstrual stigma, and promoting SRHR. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment that empowers women and girls. We foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including youth and women’s organisations, civil society entities, the private sector, faith-based organisations, inter-governmental organisations, governments, advocacy groups, and human rights defenders. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 6(Clean Water and Sanitation), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), our vision is to create sustainable, equitable communities where every girl has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, access to education, and essential healthcare. Through our work, YEPPM envisions a world where menstrual health and SRHR are no longer stigmatized, and all individuals have equal access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to lead healthy and empowered lives.

Mission

Our mission is to address period poverty, promote sexual and reproductive health rights, and eradicate embarrassment and shame surrounding periods. We advocate for comprehensive sexual health rights as essential to well-being and autonomy, believing that gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls are vital for sustainable development and systemic change.

Vision

We envision a period-friendly world where menstrual health is prioritised, stigma is eradicated, and a more inclusive and equitable society is achieved. By positioning young people as key stakeholders, we aim to enhance governmental and international efforts to promote gender equality.
